I have tried other hip pedometers in the past only to be constantly disappointed in the inaccuracy of the steps. This one is never wrong! I test it from time to time during my walks with constant amazement of the steps being exactly the same as what I counted. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a truly accurate step/mile/total per day/total per week meter.

This pedometer works great. I usually hang it around my neck while I’m walking. It keeps an accurate count of steps, distance, time, calories burned and speed. Although the instructions state you can put it in your pocket, or just about anywhere and it will pick up your movements, I’ve found it works best when I wear it around my neck. I’ve tried it in my pants pocket and a jacket pocket over a route I had measured with my car and neither one were as accurate as when I just hung it around my neck. Also, you want it to hang freely. Once on a cold day I had it under my jacket and it didn’t work as well. I’m very happy with it and use it every day.

Just got it in the mail a few hours ago and put it through a test run which was surprisingly more accurate than I thought. The most attractive feature is the fact that you can keep this pedometer anywhere on your body and it’ll count steps! I had it in my pocket, around my neck and in my bag and it perfectly measured 0.25 miles exactly on one lap around a track. It also provies the calories burned, time spent walking, distance, and steps. Its small, lightweight and barely noticeable when you have it on.

I actually purchased two of these, each at different times. The idea was that my wife would share one. I ASSUMED that you could do this since the software has options for tracking multiple users. Well, this wasn’t the case. The pedometer will only track one given days worth of data. It will not segregate each user nor is there any option to do so. I start this review off this way because I think there a lot of people out there that partner up when trying diet or exercise program as was my case. But, I ended up purchasing an additional one to be able to measure the both of us separately. I couldn’t find a PC ready model separate from the software so now I own to CD’s of software.
Now for the good stuff. The pedometer is pretty great all in all. The two major reasons that I purchased this for two reasons. One, it has software that helps you track your walking history. Second, it can be placed almost anywhere and doesn’t have to be placed on your hip area. You put it in your shirt pocket even! You can look at the specs to see all that it measures and all I can say is that it is all useful info. Whether its time blocks or distance to cal burned it’s all good stuff. And, the neat software keeps track of everything and can present it to you in a number of different scales such as by day, week, month and year. You can also print out any of the before mentioned to give to whoever wants to read it like your doctor. And, if you track your blood pressure, you can purchase an Omron BP electronic cuff that you can hook up to your computer and download that info into the same interface that you use with the pedometer. Then you use a side by side comparison to see the effects etc.
All in all I am very happy with the purchase and plan on adding the blood pressure cuff to the mix. I will say this. Shop before you buy. When I purchased my second pedometer, I found that there were a few of the same pedometer with pretty wide price spreads so check that it is the right model number and what the actual shipping charge is.

I like the miles calculator and the software to summarize a month or more data.

Be sure to use the safety strap. The belt clip does not stay on well.

    Would buy again.

Walking is Free!

By: K. Dilworth

Walking has many health benefits and it does not cost a thing to do it. For your health and motivation, be determined to fit walking into your schedule even if you can't find the time to do anything else. However, first make sure you have a full physical and get permission from your doctor to engage in this activity. Also, for safety reasons, especially if you are a female, find a safe neighborhood, or a populated park to walk in where there are plenty of other people around. You can also form a walking club with your neighbors, or friends to make it fun. Make it a goal to be accountable to each other to walk at least three times a week. It's great exercise for your heart, can reduce stress, as well as lower your blood pressure, and help you lose weight if you walk consistently. We have included some of our favorite health gadgets on our website which you may find useful in your fitness endeavors. Most of all, just get out and walk. It's fun and it's free!

Next week, I'll share with you specifically why I started walking!
